St. Cloud Area Human Services Council

A membership organization that improves the ability of local human service
providers to respond to changing and growing needs through self-education,
collaborative initiatives and awareness of resources.


More than fifty local human service organizations, school districts, funding entities,
area businesses and government programs are members.


Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday morning, 7:45-9:30 a.m., every other month beginning in August of each year. The first 15 minutes are for networking. The next 30 minutes is dedicated to the business meeting. The last hour is a program topic. Past topics have included: organization highlights, legislative updates, candidate forums, panels on a variety of different local topics, statewide organizations that support nonprofits, key local issues, and trends impacting human services.

Meetings are often held at Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud, although locations vary.


Membership benefits include: organization listed on Council website, networking with other
member organizations, and educational programs focused on current issues and leadership
skills development. 


Additional benefits include: access to training videos purchased by the Council, member email addresses added to a listserv to share and receive information from other Council
members (approximately 400 e-mail addresses), and access to low-cost training annually. 


St. Cloud Area Human Services Council serves as a vehicle for connecting key players
who create positive community change. United Way of Central Minnesota, (320) 252-
0227, is the home base for the Council maintaining membership rosters, financials, meeting
notices and general support.
